Interracial relationships and marriages are becoming more common

your father sounds like he may be too set in his ways. Although, you need to see it from his perspective. Color should have nothing to do with how you feel about a person, but is the guy you like a thug, a delinquint, an outkast of society? if so, I side with your father. Oh, and don't go out with him just to make your father mad...thats not right.

Well, thats the type of racial crap that has hurt America for many, many years. I am a white male, and I feel that that just because of the color of my skin, I am to be stereotyped as a weak individual? People like that should never open their mouths. Wow!!!!! I really just cant believe i just came across this!!!! My boyfriend is african ameriacan and I am Salvadorian and I believe we make a wonderfull couple. I cant wait for when we get married and have children. My children are going to be unique and certainly beautifull. The most beautifull and attractive people are mixed. Very exotic and physically outstanding. I myself look mixed, and I love it when people ask me "what is your race" because I know that I look interesting.diffrerent. Every race has its own but nobody should ever call it discusting obviously you dont know any better.that is so sad.

Heck, I'm all for inter-racial relationships and marriages, I know and respect a fair few couples from different ethnic backgrounds, and, as a nonwhite-Australian, I've always tended to be more attracted towards white Western girls- so I reckon I've got a vested interest in such relationships. I'll be damned if other (prejudiced) ppl criticse my perspectives- if I wanna have a stunning blue-eyed blonde girlfriend & marry her, that's MY business & nobody else's, so to hell with the views of anybody who questions my preferences...

I think, from my perspective, inter-racial romance is probably less of an issue here in Oz than it is in the US, given that we've got such a multi-cultural society where the vast majority of ppl from different backgrounds get along well with each other, & where- despite the White Australia Policy until the 1960s- there's been, unlike in America, less of a social stigma associated with ppl from different racial groups.

And to, 'genocidal relations'- what an ignorant bigoted crap-filled statement to make :( I know alot of very stable, well-adjusted families from mixed backgrounds- so why don't you just crawl back into the hole which you came out from, or go back in time to an era which shares your prejudices ?

I would sooner see the world end than end up black.

The same thing that attracts any woman to a particular man--a myriad of factors-- attracted me to my mate. A woman primarily looks for someone who is healthy, sane, reliable, dependable and able to provide for possible children--whether that person has more or less melanin the same things are important for raising children.

As part of your research, you should consider that some people are not necessarily "drawn" specifically to a different race. Sometimes a person can encounter an amazing person, be terribly attracted, and enter into a relationship. The fact that the other person is of a different race may just be a matter of coincidence, but not a matter that is important. Myself for example, I am a Canadian-born Asian male, and I met a wonderful Canadian "white" girl who is becoming a special part of my life. Her being white didn't make her more attractive or less attractive to me, and didn't have any influence on me. She is a super great girl, who happens to be white.

Well maybe your study focuses specifically on people who find different races to be especially attractive... if that's the case, then my comments aren't necessarily related. But if you're just talking in general, then please consider that some interracial relationships are a result of two people appreciating eachother for everything that they are, with differing races being a coincidental and non-influencing factor.

They become more exposed to the larger society." What!!!!!!!!!! Wow dude! What world are you living in? Why would you put yourself down like that. It sounds like you have no drive and ambition of your own. First of all, do you think that all white people are doing well for themselves? NOT!!! Absolutely not!!! The fact that you labeled yourself a minority partner is terrible. And it speaks volumes of your self-esteem. You make $10 dollars an hour because you want to! Who cares if you lived in a poor neighborhood and went to predominately black schools...I did too. But I would never in a million years say that I am better off because of a white person. Where do you live man??? If anything, they are better off because of you, dummy. (I apologize for calling you that, but it seems like your life went sour and this lady saved you.) If you want your kids to have an inheritance from a black family member (you), then build up one for them and stop mooching off of your wife and her family. Do me a favor and stop loving your wife because she's white, that's the wrong reason. It sounds like we grew up in the same situations, but I always saw myself as a KING. By the way,my woman is white too. Nobody in our relationship is a minority! We own the same things, both make decent money, have great education and are well-traveled. I came to the table with plenty. If she left tomorrow...I would be ok (mostly). You wouldn't! And, you know why???? Because you think that it takes a white person to introduce you to "the larger society." It only takes a step through your front door! Go explore.

I am African Americacan I have been in an interracial marriage for 16 years with a White woman. I have been deeply interested in the subject of interracial marriage and mixed race people most of my life. It is my passion. The following is a my laundry list of reasons for the growing previlance of interracial marriage between African Americans and other groups. My primary focus is on Blacks and Whites.

Two of my brothers are also interracially married and my youngest brother dates interrracially.

Most people stay with their own race however opposits attract amongst many. There exist an anti- inbreeding impulse. This helped to influence me. I did not want to be attracted to somone like my own sister or mother and White women are the opposite of my family.

It is my opinion that, lighter skinned African African Americans outmarry more often than darker skinned African Americans. African Americans know that the culture favors lighter skin. Many African Americans resent this cultural fact and consider race mixing against Black culture. However Black resistance to mixing has always been lower than that of White peoples resistance to blending with Black's in America. African American culture has always been less biased against White people in this country. Additionally, African American culture is becoming more and more open than it already was to interracial marriage. Social intergration and declining racism is speeding up this process.

Other factors in interracial relationships are geographical and social. African Americans gennerally live in areas consentrated with other Blacks. Churches are segregated and so are neighborhoods. White kids go to White schools and colledges. Occupations are also gennerally segrigated. However in those areas where African Americans are spread out or thouroghly intergrated wihth other groups, interracial marriage and dating happes more often. The military and the Pacific North West are examples of places where in cultural geographical ways Blacks are more intergrated. In Such situations Blacks have more chances to mix with Whites and other non Black minorities. In extreemly small towns almost zero other African Americans are available.

There are psycological factors which come to play inbetween Blak men White women and the opposite. Some the factors are unique to the spacific blend.
The following are psycological dynamics of which I have observed. Between group variations these factors can be interchangable but in genneral this is what I have observed.

Blacks who are culturally intergrated such as those who attend predominantly white churches and those who attend colledge are more likly to outmarry.
Economically, Blacks who earn higher incomes outmarry more often. This might be due to their social distance from the majority of African Americans.

A primary reason for Black mens strong desire for white women in this country is that the beauty standard of this nation for Women is based on Light skin. Black men have a unique stronger attraction towards women who are more heavy set while White men have a stronger attraction towards skinny women. I believe that White men's attraction to skinny women is growing While Black men appretiate a wider range of Beauty.

Women have sexual attractions toward toughness and coolness among other things. Even during slavery many white women would risk everything to be in love with Black Slaves. In our culture today nerdyness is a turn off to most women even though a nerd might make a more stable relationship partner. A nerd is somone who acts overwhite. Black men represent the anti-nerd. Black men also represent feircness in this coulture so White women might feel more safe around Black men. White women who love Black music and mixed race children I believe are very prone to love black men. The demand for Black men is getting stronger as American culture imbraces hip hop culture.

White men and Black women is a more complicated situation however for the white man I believe that Black Women represent strong sexuality. Before the sixies White man Black women marriages were more common than the opposite.

For the Black Women being attracted to White men I believe that this kind of African American Woman is the less connected to her culture and more asiemilated. She might also be exeptionally beutiful, smart, or wealthy. She might also be very light skinned. Many Black women want their children to have straigh less curly hair so they might be inclined to have children with whites.

For Black women interracial relationships might also be a matter of practicality. There are so many self destructive Black men with leagal troubles, dating white women, gay, substance abusers or whith multiple children by other women that White men offer a great choice. White men also tend to earn more money and come from more stable families. they might see White men as a ticket to some of our cultures inherent White priviledge.

All of these reasons are some considerations and these are genneralities which I have observed. I am not a social scientist. I am a Black Conservative who loves some writings by Steve Sailor and other experts on the subject of Race. I love Black politics and History usually from other Black writers. However ,Steve Sailor is a rare white expert on the subject of interracial relations.

What I wrote is just a bunch of opinions. Another researcher who blogs about this topic alot is Rachel Sullivan the writer of the blog Rachel's Tavern. If you go to her site google MikeR and you will find many of my post about the topic. You can also google "interracial power" I have been posting alot of stuff in the last two years.

Soon Most Americans will have mixed relatives that they know of in their families and in that day racism will be diminished.

Interracial Power!

I am a 42 year old white male and I have been attempting to do scientific research on interracial relationships. My research has given me some information but hasn't told me what I want to know. With regard to black/white relationships, the attraction of the men to the women has been explained but that of the women to the men has not. What draws black and white women to men of the other race? This particular question has not been answered nor can I find the answer. I earnestly seek genuine knowledge and enlightenment on this topic. Any input would be greatly appreciate

I would add that in general the minority partner gains in an interracial relationship. They become more exposed to the larger society. That has been my experience. My wife has her masters degree but I have not finished colledge. I am a stay at home dad who works on weekends for ten dollars an hour. Here in California thats not much. However I am an African American male and marrige to my White wife has brought me many benifits. Her family is upper middle class while mine is lower middle middle class. Partly because of her Whitness she has a good job and her family has given us vacations and some finacial support. I went to ghetto schools and my family was on welfare but my wifes school was great that is just some of the inheritance of being white. White people gennerally live in white neiborhoods and inheret good property values and good predominantly White schools. Inheritence is often underrrated but my children stand to inherit some wealth from the family farm when their grandparents die. There is almost no chance that my African American mom will leave any inheritance. The Godparents which my White wife gave to our children also have helped enrich my childrens experiences. They are also white and rich.

Most White people do not realize how much money is in their circle of friends and family compared with that of black people. White neighborhoods are opulent when compared with Black neighborhoods. My wife and I have been married for 16 years and we are very happy. Interracial marriage helps to mellow out the ghettos and reduce the seaparations inbetween African Americans and the rest of Americans. It causes White families to know black people and other minorites on a deeper level. My the family of my wife has alot of Mormons in it. Intergration of families is powerfull. Think of the cousins aunts and uncles nephews and neices who are affected when races mix. It is interracial power to diminish racism. Black women would be very smart to mix with whites because there so many Black men are self destructive and many of the good ones are already taken. I am an African American so I can say that without sounding racist. The future of america is mixed and Brown not White and Black anyways so I encurage all peple to mix it up.
