Launch of the first standard graphical notation for biology

Hinxton, 07 August 2009 -- Researchers at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory's European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) and their colleagues in 30 labs worldwide have released a new set of standards for graphically representing biological information -- the biology equivalent of the circuit diagram in electronics.

University of Oklahoma presents meteorological recommendations to the Republic of Croatia

*Maurits van den Noort received his MA-degree in Social Psychology and Neuro- & Rehabilitation Psychology from the Radboud University Nijmegen (Nijmegen, the Netherlands) and his PhD-degree in Psychology from the University of Bergen (Bergen, Norway). His main areas of interest are: human rights/life aid work, art, science. He is currently working for the Free University of Brussels (Brussels, Belgium) and he is visiting professor at Kyung Hee University (Seoul, Republic of Korea).

90 million year old dino tracks found on resort island

During fieldwork conducted throughout the month of June, an international team of Canadian and Croatian paleontologists and geologists found 90 million year old dinosaur tracks and trackways on the island of Hvar, Croatia. The tracks belong to giant long-necked dinosaurs called sauropods, and more specifically, the last of the giant sauropods, the majestic titanosaurs.
