About us
Science Blog was started in August 2002. It lives, breathes and eats press releases from research organizations around the globe. Most of what you read here are press releases from the outfits named in the stories themselves. Got a news story you think belongs here?
Let's talk.
The other half of the equation is
blog posts from readers like you. So if you have an interest in science,
please register and join others like you in an ongoing, vibrant dialog about what makes the world tick. Meantime, please take a minute to read our

Cincinnati Childrens Hospital has long been a pioneer in medicine. The heart lung mahine, artiical blood are inventions tere of Dr. Leland Clark. The oral Polio vacine developed there by Dr. Albert Sabin. The initial work on using lasers in medicine was done there by Dr. Albert Goldman and Jim Rockwell. These are just a few of the contributions to medicne from one relatively small hospital.
As a high school student, I worked in the Laser Laboritory at Cincinnati's Childrens Hospital. Dr. Sabin's lab was across the hall from the Laser laboritory. As a student at teh University of Cincinnati, I did a story about Dr. Clark's work on artificial blood and was present when he gave a complete replacement of blood with artifical blood to a dog that survived.
Cincinnati Childrens Hospital is truly a remarable place and has a place in medical history much like the place homas Edison has in technology.
