Marijuana and anxiety

In addition to alcohol, I've also seen a number of clients who self-medicate their anxiety with marijuana use. There seems to be a strong connection between anxiety and marijuana as well as alcohol. SPECT brain scans have shown that marijuana affects roughly the same area as some antidepressants and anti-anxiety agents. Marijuana is not AS effective but shows some efficacy for both bipolar and anxiety (which frequently coexist). Best regards, Dr. John Schinnerer DrJohn@GuideToSelf.com Guide To Self, Inc.
