About us
Science Blog was started in August 2002. It lives, breathes and eats press releases from research organizations around the globe. Most of what you read here are press releases from the outfits named in the stories themselves. Got a news story you think belongs here?
Let's talk.
The other half of the equation is
blog posts from readers like you. So if you have an interest in science,
please register and join others like you in an ongoing, vibrant dialog about what makes the world tick. Meantime, please take a minute to read our

How racist can you people get?
I'm black, and I'm highly offended by almost every last comment left here.
FIRST OF ALL, you need to get your facts straight. I don't see any sources cited here. Where are your "statistics" coming from? WHY DO YOU ALL SEE BLACK PEOPLE AS KILLERS? I know tons of black people and none of them would ever hurt a fly.
It breaks my heart to see you label "young black men" as murderers. My older brother is a young black man. He's the sweetest thing on the face of the PLANET. And to hear you talk about him like some sort of criminal...makes me want to sob. STOP making generalizations. You're stereotyping MY RACE to DEATH. Yes, there are black people that commit crime. But guess what, there are white people and Asian people and Hispanic people that commit crime as well!
And the comment about Africa: The reason why Africa has so many issues is because after years of colonization, all the European countries pulled out and left the Africans hanging. They were not adequately equipped to govern themselves. So as a result, years and years of political strife, civil war, and ethnic tumult erupted. That's just basic political science. So don't get it twisted.
I beg you all...don't profile a whole race because of the actions of some. We're people. I AM A PERSON. Not a criminal. Not a killer. Not a thug.
See us as PEOPLE first, black second.
