About us
Science Blog was started in August 2002. It lives, breathes and eats press releases from research organizations around the globe. Most of what you read here are press releases from the outfits named in the stories themselves. Got a news story you think belongs here?
Let's talk.
The other half of the equation is
blog posts from readers like you. So if you have an interest in science,
please register and join others like you in an ongoing, vibrant dialog about what makes the world tick. Meantime, please take a minute to read our

I just hope scientists don't get too locked into looking for a single simple explanation of how to do this. It might requires a series of bumps..paring down the asteroid a bit, and using other gravitational fields to move these things in a different direction.
Whats the warning time on asteroids coming toward us? If we catch one early enough, I wonder if some kind of sonic device can pulverize the rocks bit by bit until nothing but dust is left before it gets anywhere near Earth. Or maybe an acid of some kind can break it down. Is there anything that can feed on rock?
Oh..And PS.. You destroy it with a hemoroid (sp?).
