Impact of removing manure

I was wondering what the impact of removing the manure would be?

Fair enough the energy could be "re-cycled" into biogas, but what about the impact on the paddocks. Surely ye olde farmer is going to have to use more fertiliser as years go by to keep his paddocks well grassed...
