carbon nanotubes as asbestos
Submitted by Anonymous on Mon, 2008-05-26 06:27.
The authors of this paper failed to remove the nickel and/or cobalt catalysts from the tubes that they injected into the rats. Both nickel and cobalt are strong mutagens. In addition most processes to grow nanotubes result in production of high molecular weight hydrocarbons whose adsorption is related to the surface area. Longer tubes would results in more effect.
This study is inept and should be considered as junk science!
