Job Interviews are not about equal opportunities.

Speaking on my behalf and personal experience on this matter ive alot to say regarding job interviews. Im the kind of person who will go into a job interview and have short answers for the questions im asked. Not because im not trying my best but because im just naturally not good with words. Im also shy and quiet and unfortunetly this doesnt do me any favours in this day and age. Too easily are employers swayed towards the confident social butterflies of this world, which i can understand..but what about the people who arent social butterflies and arent good with words but yet could easily do the job at hand if given a chance? The simple answer is they are kicked to the kerb. So this gives us two halves of people and brings me to my point on equal opportunities. An employer may well be an opportunity employer based on race/skin colour but when it comes to personality, this doesnt even enter the employers head. I thought equal opportunity was about treating everyone as your equal (atleast thats how i see it) but yet here we have a situation where it seems that only one kind of personality gets considered for a job, the confident/social people. This really annoys me because the fact im naturally just a quiet/shy person means im always overlooked and this isnt what equal opportunities is about. We all too easily get a rejection letter soon after the interview and left to sign on at the dole office. Then i get the question but sure theres other jobs out there, sure their are, i could prob easily get a job at cleaning toilets etc no offence to people who do this type of job by the way but you know where im coming from, but why should i be left to do this job when i could easily do a better paid I.T job or something similar. Unfotunetly im still unemployed but not through lack of trying but simply through rejection. Why? because im not confident enough or a social butterfly like some people, well employers need to learn that everyones different and yet do they? No. So where do i find myself, stuck on the dole and the same people complaining who rejected me at interviews, the hipocrits.
