Hallucinogenics and musics

When I listen to music while under the effects of LSD, I have an extremely powerful sense of the "shape" of the music - almost like moving through a three dimensional space of shapes which move and rebound to the sound of the chords - roofs, spirals, domes, cathedrals of sound. I wonder if there is any connection between these shapes and those described by this model. It's a sensation akin to synasthesia, though shapes and music are involved rather than words and colours.
