fMRIs are great, but..

These studies always seem to have the same problem with them. Perhaps its just the way they are reported. It's not that oh look, this part of the brain lights up, and that explains why you have a certain feeling or behavior... the two are exactly the same thing. It's like saying you crave donuts because you crave donuts... yeah. Doesn't mean anything. All this does is give us insight into the parts of the brain responsible for the behavior, it doesn't explain what drives it.
