About us
Science Blog was started in August 2002. It lives, breathes and eats press releases from research organizations around the globe. Most of what you read here are press releases from the outfits named in the stories themselves. Got a news story you think belongs here?
Let's talk.
The other half of the equation is
blog posts from readers like you. So if you have an interest in science,
please register and join others like you in an ongoing, vibrant dialog about what makes the world tick. Meantime, please take a minute to read our

We need Black History Month to remind the black kids of the pride they have in their heritage, and to remind white kids to remember not to screw up like their ancestors (as early as their parents, in some cases,) did. I'll be comfortable in our multiculturalness when the Klan can't find enough recruits to march. By the way, how close are we to a Muslim History Month? Pretty close, or are we not quite ready for that one yet? Maybe in another 40 years or so. While we're on topic, can you name 5 scientists from every ethnicity? That would be a fun exercise. (Rules: you can't choose people from your own institution or company. And all of your Jewish names can't be physicists.)
