About us
Science Blog was started in August 2002. It lives, breathes and eats press releases from research organizations around the globe. Most of what you read here are press releases from the outfits named in the stories themselves. Got a news story you think belongs here?
Let's talk.
The other half of the equation is
blog posts from readers like you. So if you have an interest in science,
please register and join others like you in an ongoing, vibrant dialog about what makes the world tick. Meantime, please take a minute to read our

My mother is dealing with alzheimer's and she has been diagnosed with it since july of 2003. She has no memory of her children or husband or sisters. She does not make any since when she speaks. She does not dress herself or feed herself anymore. She is 66 y/o and has a severe case of osteoporosis. She has a hump in her upper back. We have taken her to a dr. in neurology disorders and he has put her on numerous drugs to treat the symptoms but has never treated the actual disease. Is it possible to get a treatment such as this one in your article? In another study it said vasicular dementia was not reccomended for treatment. She has had open heart surgery in june of 2002. I don't know if the surgery made her dementia worse or not but I do know we started noticing a change with her after surgery.
