Morning sickness

My only problem with this, as someone whose had to use such scanners, is often you are going in one after another into a building in quick succession (i.e. morning or lunchtime) so there really isn't any time for the germs to die. If the person is messy or sweaty, you'll end up touching a moist scanner. It certainly would be nice if they could hit the plate with UV light or something after it is used to sterilize it. With that said, I guess we've dealt with doornobs, keyboards and what not in everyday life, so we'll survive.
