About us
Science Blog was started in August 2002. It lives, breathes and eats press releases from research organizations around the globe. Most of what you read here are press releases from the outfits named in the stories themselves. Got a news story you think belongs here?
Let's talk.

hi james,
i'm not a MD but here's a possible calculation on dosage. the mice received 1-2mgs once a day according to the article. the average mouse is around 20gms in weight, so for a person of around 75kg weight, this would therefore scale to around 3.8 gms - 7.6 gms per day. that's around 4-8 size '0' capsules, or just check the bottle for the actual contents.
as a tonic, triphala is usually taken in the range of 1-2 gms per day, but doses several times that are used for cleansing and as a mild laxative, so 8gms per day is not unreasonable. The usual way to take it would be on first getting up, before eating anything.
you brother might also want to take ashwaganda to keep his energy up and astragalus to help boost his immune system during chemo. jatamansi can be helpful if he's having problems sleeping.
good luck.
