...which came about by accident or by design. Does "design" necessarily imply a designer, though--someone standing outside all of this, like the author of a novel? Perhaps the universe is constantly designing and redesigning itself in a process that never had a beginning and will never have an end? This would seem to be impossible, but so are all the other creation theories. Whenever we come up with a First Cause we always ask: Yeah, but what came before that?
