Herpes part of a family of viruses taking over

Oral and Genital Herpes are in the same family (Herpesviridae) as Mononucleosis, Chicken Pox, Epstein-Barr and Shingles. Anybody on this list not had at least one of these diseases in their lifetime? I think researchers should be giving a little more attention to the spread of this virus type.
