UCSD - too close to the beach

As a UCSD (Revelle) grad myself, I can fondly recollect the ignorant, self-righteous bliss we lived in when 'studying' in the UC system.

The authors of this study neglect to consider that variation in frequency of wildfires over the last several thousand years - unlike computer-driven climate *models* - is a fact, and therefore that what they are reporting is in all likelihood the never-ending din of climate change.

Climate has varied for millions of years, it's varied before humans existed, it's varied since humans have existed & before we started using hydrocarbons. It will also continue to vary long after we've evolved into another species. If you've learned & value critical thought more than research grants, you cannot claim global warming to be anthropogenic in nature in light of the gaping inconsistencies described on my blog.

I only hope that we evolve into a species that doesn't pat its lapdog wannabe scientists on the back when they kiss the @$$ of the self-rightous, self-loathing global warming establishment with a study as devoid of higher thought and historical perspective as this one.
